梅雨なので雨の歌を訳してみた。
　バート・バカラックの『雨にぬれても』―カントリー風の明るく軽快な、それでいてどこか洗練された雰囲気をもった名曲。そして、雨を歌ったポップスで、私が一番好きな曲だ。
　映画『明日に向かって撃て』のなかで、ポール・ニューマンとキャサリン・ロスが自転車に乗ってたわむれる印象的なシーンのバックに流れていたことは、多くの映画ファンがご存じだろう。
　歌詞は、雨に降られて気もめいりそうな男が、それでも元気を出してがんばるぞという、健気なもので、「雨にぬれても」は実に言いえて妙なる邦題だと思う。
